New Arrival Cane Native American Flutes

<br>New Arrival Cane Native American Flutes

by James Gilliland

We don't get many of James' cane flutes because he is partly retired and only makes a few a year. We just received six new flutes ready for immediate shipment.† A great opportunity to buy his "hard to get" flutes as a gift or for yourself. We only have six in stock and when they are gone we won't get any more until James sends them to us. We get what we get when we get them and never know when or what keys or styles he will send. Donít miss the opportunity to own one of these great flutes!

James has mastered the art of working with cane and bamboo combining traditional methods with new technology to craft these flutes. He creates for us the hard-to-find lower keys. He uses only the finest material, taking the flute through a journey. Each flute is heat-treated, hand scraped, the inside cleaned and sanded, cut to the correct length and the placement of the playing holes calculated. The playing holes and the reed are burned into the flute using traditional methods. Each playing hole is tuned using a digital tuner. After the flute is completed, it is impregnated with lacquer with a vacuum/pressure process. After the lacquer is cured, the flute is then sprayed with up to 5 coats of clear lacquer and then waxed with carnauba wax for lasting protection. These flutes will have a very traditional sound that no wooden flute can duplicate.

You can hear how wonderful Jimís Black Bamboo Flutes sound by visiting recording artist Mark "Wandering Bear" Barger's listening room. He recorded the songs "Appaloosa Dance" and "Blossom Traveller" on his treasured black Bamboo Flute.

Just wanted to let you know how much I am enjoying the cases you made for me last year. I like to take a flute along on hikes to special places, and the Hummingbird is just perfect for that. When I go somewhere to play with several flutes and both cases, the cases get as many comments from people as the flutes! I always get asked about them when traveling through airports.

The beauty and craftsmanship of your cases is incomparable, and they give me a wonderful feeling every time I pick them up. And knowing that they were made by you, and not in a factory halfway around the world, makes them even more special. Thanks again for all your help selecting my cases and fabrics, and for doing such a terrific job on them! As my flute collection grows, when I need more cases you can be sure that I'll be calling.
