Teotihuacan: Melody Flute

Drone or play a melody on either side!

Teotihuacan: Melody FluteThe origin of this flute traces back to the Teotihuacan culture of central Mexico during the early classic period (300-600AD). It was originally used as a temple flute played by priests. It is sometimes called a melody flute because you can drone either side or play a melody on either side.

The flute features two harmonizing keys. One side is the key of low E, the other the key of high B. Each side offers three independent finger holes on the top of the flute and one thumbhole on the bottom of the flute. This provides a phenomenal note range.

An amazing flute crafted out of Western Red Cedar with a walnut mouthpiece and a mahogany ring and birds. It is adorned with unique artwork hand crafted by Guillermo. The sterling silver central piece has an inlayed turquoise stone and accented with a low relief carvings. Most importantly the flute not only looks beautiful it plays beautifully.
