Sioux Replica Flute

Collector's Dream with Incredible Detail and Rich Sound!

Sioux Replica FluteFollowing tradition, Ted Calavan has created another wonderful Masterpiece using traditional methods. This Med G 6-hole Sioux Replica Flute is made of Eastern Red Cedar and decorated with carved raised spirals. The flute is hand painted using real red & black oxide paint ground from minerals.

Ted spent many hours bringing this flute to life. Because he crafts everything by hand he limits his flute production to two flutes a year. Recording artist Jeff Ball commissioned his last creation. Ted researched museum flutes for this project and replicated a circa 1870 Oglala Lakota (Oglala Sioux) flute. Visit the National Musuem of the American Indian site to see the original. Ted voiced this flute with a brass nesting plate and it has a warm rich voice. The bird head has brass tac eyes and the ties are brain tanned deer leather. It is a rare opportunity to add a flute of this quality to your collection.

Only one available $875.00 (regular Price $1000.00).
