EZ Anasazi Flute by Stephen DeRuby A Contemporary Interpretation of an Ancient Instrument
We at the Oregon Flute Store have always loved the sound of the ancient mystic tones of the Anasazi flute; however it is very difficult to play. If you are like us, and would like to create this sound with ease then we have found your answer!
|
This seven-hole Eastern Red Cedar flute features a cutting edge like a rim-blown flute but with a mouthpiece that does not require embouchure. All you do is blow. Inspired by the ancient Anasazi flute Stephen has kept the traditional elements of a long, narrow bore and similar scale. It has the same tonal quality of a rim-blown Anasazi flute. But, he has made it easier to play with his innovative mouthpiece. It requires less air than a rim-blown flute with more volume. An added thumbhole offers more versatility and allows him to bring the finger holes closer together for ease of play. It is accurately tuned and plays both major and minor scales. Each flute is decorated with a spiral wood burned design on the mouthpiece.
